ISLAMABAD - The FAST/NESCOM University 14th annual sports gala concluded with more than Rs 1 million were awarded to the winners of different events. More than 3000 students of various universities took part in the events. The main feature of the gala was the fight of robots, which was won by UAT Taxila students, who were awarded cash prize of Rs 50,000, while basketball event was won by FNL, which outclassed Falcon Basketball Club 55-34. Futsol title was lifted by hosts FAST Islamabad Campus after beating FNL 6-3, Wasik Hussain was hero for the winners with a superb hat-trick, while Syed Musab Anwar also scored a brace for the winners. Asad alias Bantu scored two goals for the losers. The girls' volleyball title went to LUMS, which beat Islamic International University Islamabad 25-22, 25-23, 15-12 and Abduallah Razzaq of FAST University won the archery title.  Different competitions were also organised among the orphans who were especially invited from different schools. Kids car racing was also conducted among various school students, Headstart students lift the title. FAST University Islamabad Campus Director Dr Arshad Ali Shahid graced the occasion as chief guest, while sports officer Aoun Abbas Hashmi, Dr Mazhar Ali, Dr Aftab Maroof, M Mumtaz, Amanullah Khan and other dignitaries were also present there.
