MQM, PTI want Nisar and Sindh CM to step down

Karachi: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Waseem Akhtar has demanded Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s resignation, over Karachi bus attack that left 43 people dead in country’s worst terror incident of the year.

“People are being killed in Karachi but the government is not paying heed. Chaudhry Nisar should step down after today’s major incident of terrorism in Karachi,” Waseem Akhter said, while talking to a private news channel. He said Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah should also quit his office. “Qaim Ali Shah must get retirement as his government has failed to curb terrorism,” the former Sindh home minister said. Earlier, MQM chief Altaf Hussain said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and CM Sindh should resign “if they are not telling the nation what hurdles they are facing in eliminating terrorism.” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central leader Asad Umar also demanded Shah’s resignation over the incident.
