Islamabad: Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed has strongly condemned the attack on the bus in Karachi today and has expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the heinous incident.

While talking to journalists, he asked the religious scholars to speak against such perpetrators who target innocent and peaceful people and also urged politicians, Ulema, intellectuals and civil society members to demonstrate unity against them.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that the targeted Ismaili community is the most peaceful one and is always engaged in social welfare whereas they have also played a positive role in the economy of Pakistan through trade. He termed them as educated people who diligently serve Pakistan and oblige the law.

The Information Minister said that architects of such barbaric acts who kill innocents are the enemies of Pakistan and Islam. “They are neither Muslims nor human being”.

Furthermore, he also stated that such incidents of brutality cannot weaken the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country and vowed to continue the operation till the last terrorist meet its end.

Rashid said that the attack is a coward attempt made by terrorists to spread fear among the public.

"Terrorism has no affiliation and link with any religion," Pervez Rashid added.

He said that the nation will stand firm and strong against terrorism.

At least 43 people were killed and more than 10 injured when suspected terrorists on motorcycles opened fire on a bus near Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi today. All the passengers were from the Ismaili community .
