Karachi: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the firing incident that took place near Safoora Chowrangi located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi, in which more than 40 people were killed while several others were injured today.
They expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the terrorism incident. The PM expressed his deep sorrow on the loss of innocent lives. He also ordered immediate investigation and summoned a report about the incident.
Other key leaders of the country have also strongly condemned the firing incident. PPP leader Asif Zardari, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah and other leaders also condemned the incident.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also strongly condemned the attack, according to a statement. Bilawal sympathized with the victims and urged for stern action against the terrorists. PTI chief Imran Khan demanded from Sindh government to ensure maximum possible health facilities and utmost care for the injured ones. “It is heart wrenching and saddening to know innocent civilians have been killed in Karachi” Khan said in his tweet.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain expressed deep grief and sorrow over the attack. He said this attack is the worst form of terrorism and those behind the attack are savages.
Sindh CM said that the incident could be a reaction of operation against the terrorists. He also said that the best possible health facilities would be given to injured people.
