Islamabad: Shahid Hamid, counsel for PML-N, has requested the Judicial Commission (JC) probing alleged rigging in polls to stop PTI leaders including Imran Khan from giving any statement with respect to the proceedings of this commission. The JC summoned Abdul Hafiz Pirzada, counsel for PTI, in chamber and apprised him of the reservations of PML-N. Pirzada held out assurance that such statement would not be given in future. Former Election Commissioner (EC) Punjab Mehboob Anwar and other witnesses appeared before the JC. Shahid Hamid, counsel for PML-N, said it seems from the statement given by Imran Khan to journalists on commission proceedings a day before that he wants to influence the JC. Imran described the witness as a liar before journalists and said that organized rigging has been proved before the JC. Chairman of the JC said his point has been noted. Counsel for PML-N said that all the constituencies of the country be reviewed. The JC said he should give this proposal in writing. Counsel for Election Commission also made this demand. The JC adjourned its proceedings till today.
