Remains of Philippines envoy sent to Manila

ISLAMABAD - A special aircraft C-130, carrying the body of the deceased Ambassador of the Philippines, Domingo D, Lucenario Jr., who had passed away during the tragic helicopter accident of 8 May 2015, left Islamabad on Tuesday for Manila.
Khurram Dastgir, Federal Minister of Commerce, and an officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are accompanying the senior officials of the Philippines and family members of the late Ambassador, on the special plane.
A dignified ceremony with guard of honour, paying respects to the deceased ambassador, was held at Noor Khan Airbase, Islamabad, before departure.
Meanwhile, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, called his Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi, Foreign Minister of Indonesia.
The Adviser offered deep condolences and sympathies over the loss of life of Heri Listyawati, the wife of Ambassador Burhan Muhammad, who also got injured, in the crash.
He said that she was very popular in the social and ladies diplomatic circle in Islamabad.
She will be greatly missed. May her soul rest in peace.
The Adviser conveyed that arrangements have been made by the Government of Pakistan to transport bodies of those who lost their lives to their respective countries and provide best medical treatment to those injured. He also prayed for early recovery of Ambassador Burahn Muhammad.
The Foreign Minister of Indonesia expressed her government’s gratitude for the support provided by the government of Pakistan immediately after the tragic accident. She also conveyed her condolences over the loss of lives of Pakistanis and other diplomats and wished speedy recovery of the injured persons.
