GUJRANWALA - The Gepco Chief Executive suspended 12 officers including nine SDOs over poor performance and failure to overcome line losses, prompting the Gepco Engineering Association threatened pen-down strike against the decision.  According to details, Gepco Chief Executive Zahoor Ahmed Chohan ordered suspension of nine SDOs and three other officers on the charges of poor performance and failure to overcome line losses.

It is to be noted that local parliamentarians have been criticising performance of the Gepco officers during their open courts.

Following the suspension order of the SDOs and other officers, the Engineering Association started protest against the decision. Addressing a press conference, association president Faisal Nafees demanded restoration of the suspended officers, warning that a missive protest would be launched if the officers were not restored in two days.
