LAHORE - Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf who is heading party’s Organising Committee for Central Punjab faced tough questions from party men in a meeting here on Thursday, according to sources. Rana Farooq Ahmad, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Nadeem Kaira and former district Presidents attended the meeting.

Insiders said that Raja faced criticism over his alleged corruption during his brief stint as Prime Minister as it was the majority view that corruption tales damaged the party in a big way.

A district President even went to the extent of stating that their children would ask questions about ex-Prime Minister’s corruption.  He also levelled corruption charges against Ministers of his Cabinet. One of the participants said that party founder Z.A Bhutto had zero tolerance against corruption and would not allow any Minister to misuse his office for corruption.

There was no media briefing at the end of the meeting which continued for well over two hours. Also, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has convened a joint meeting of Organising Committees of party’s Central and Southern Punjab at Bilawal House on Friday (today).  Party’s organisational matters would come under discussion. Two ex-Prime Ministers, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will attend the meeting alongwith other members of the two Committees including former Punjab Governor Makhdum Ahmed Mehmood.
