rawalpindi - City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi directed the Rawat police to take stern action against land grabbers and provide justice to the victims. He also held inquiry against a police officer and other constables allegedly involved in threatening a woman.

The CPO issued these orders while holding an open court here yesterday. A large numbers of complainants appeared before the CPO and lodged complaints against the police officers.

The CPO directed the police officers to remove the grievances of public on priority basis.

A citizen Tahir Najib of Rawat appeared before CPO and tendered an application stating that land mafia headed by Iftikhar was trying to occupy his precious land and demanded legal action against the land grabbers.

Taking action, CPO ordered SHO Rawat to take stern action against land mafia.

Similarly, a lady namely Hameedan Begum lodged a complaint in which she accused ASI Liaquat and other constables of Police Station Civil Line of threatening and teasing her without any reason. CPO tasked SHO PS Civil Line to look into the matter and submit a report with CPO Office.

Another lady Kausar Bibi told Israr Abbasi that Arbaz and Masood snatched purse from her daughter and now hurling threats to bar us from approaching police. 

CPO asked SHO PS Civil Line to take legal action against the accused. Javed Iqbal, a citizen, tabled an application before CPO stating that police implicated him in a fake case. The CPO while taking action ordered DSP Civil Line to probe the matter on merit.

Ambreen Azam of Naseerabad told CPO that a man Hamad stormed into her house, tortured her and made off with gold jewellery. CPO ordered SHO PS Naseeraqbad to lodge a case against the accused after inquiry.

Talking to media men, CPO Israr said that his office was always opened for the public as police would protect their rights. He said that no police officer would be allowed to misbehave with the public in the police stations.
