ISLAMABAD – The 1st Gun & Country Club Islamabad Junior Tennis Championship 2016 will start here at Gun Club clay courts from May 21. Talking to The Nation, Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) secretary Arif Qureshi said four events would be held during the event, which included junior U-18, boys’ U-14, girls’ U-18 and boy’s doubles. The Gun & Country Club is organising the event in collaboration with the ITA and all the arrangements to conduct it are near to completion. ITF official Arif Qureshi will officiate as referee where as Raja Nauman Afzaal as tournament director. Ather Rauf Bhatti of Gun & Country Club said: “The main aim of holding the tournament is to provide an opportunity to local tennis players to prepare them for big tournaments. The club has all facilities for this tournament.”
