ISLAMABAD – Defending champions Pakistan entered the quarterfinals of the 18th Asian Senior Squash Team Championship 2016, after topping Pool B and defeating both Sri Lanka and Singapore on the opening day of the event at Chinese Taipei. Pakistan has to face easy opponent in form of Iraq in the quarterfinal to be held today (Friday) at 12pm, while the toughest quarterfinal will be between Malaysia and India. Top seed Hong Kong take on Singapore and in the last quarterfinal, Japan face Korea challenge. Pakistani team’s real test will be witnessed in the semifinals, where they have to face one of the big guns. Pakistan team performance against Singapore was not a convincing one, especially Tayyab and Israr must shape up or else Pakistan should forget about returning home with the coveted trophy.
