A gang rape case in Pakistan has been allegedly settled for a compensation of 30 mounds of a wheat by a traditional assembly of leaders. A police case was registered few days ago 9on complaint of the 14-year-old victim’s brother in Ghulam Nabi Shah area of Umerkot district in Sindh province.
The victim’s father claimed that the jigra was held under the supervision of a local influential landlord. He said that after he refused to accept the compensation he was forced to leave the area with his family. I want to raise a question, Where is the government of our country? Why they don’t take any strong action against this act? We need justice! I hope this news get an attention of some good people in power, and the rapist should be prosecuted quickly. Also, government needs to provide protection to the victim and her family.
