LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has demanded forming a judicial commission for probing alleged wrongdoings in Rawalpindi Ring Road project. Talking to the media at PML-N Secretariat Model Town on Wednesday, Attaullah Tarar alleged that so far Rs2.3 billion has been paid to front men of Special Assistant to Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari and Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan. He demanded of Punjab government to release original plan of the project. Tarar alleged that compensation was only given to like-minded people as many friends and advisers of the prime minister live there. He said the PM always said that he will not give NRO but he never took action against own people. He claimed that PML-N had planned 26 km but PTI government extended it to 66 km and this project was also extended to Islamabad. He said that it was a daylight robbery by the PTI stalwarts. “You have carried out this robbery using government resources and extended the project to 66 km,” he said adding the PML-N government was accused of wrongdoing in Ashiana project, which was on public-private partnership and so far nothing came out of it. He demanded that Ghulam Sarwar Khan and Zulfi Bukhari should be removed from the cabinet immediately while a commission of the Supreme Court judges should be formed to investigate this scandal. He also appealed the Supreme Court to take notice of this scam.
