KHYBER AGENCY - Six persons including women and children were killed when a mortar shell hit their house at Sheendrang area of tehsil Bara on Saturday, official and local sources informed. The sources said that a mortar shell, fired from unknown location, landed on the house of Mira Jan, leaving two women and four children dead on the spot and injuring five others. The injured were shifted to a nearby health center. It is important to mention here that skirmishes between two armed groups - Lashkar-e-Islam and Zekhakhel Qaumi Lashker - have been in progress in the area. Meanwhile, the security forces claimed killing five militants and wounding many others in a shootout in Malikdin area of Bara, official sources said. According to details, dozen of militants attacked a check post in Malikdin Khel, which was repulsed by the troops and in retaliation five militants were shot dead.
