Supreme Court (SC) has disqualified Yusuf Ayub, minister for communication Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) in fake degree case besides dismissing appeal plea  filed by him against the decision of election tribunal.

A 3-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took up for hearing appeal plea filed by Yusuf Ayub against the decision of subordinate court Wednesday.

Tariq Mehmood advocate counsel for Yusuf Ayub took the plea his client had contested election in 2002 on the basis of FA certificate and no question  was raised about non filing of BA degree. He made references to several decisions.

The court remarked “ it has been proved that Yusuf Ayub was not even eligible to contest polls.

Yusuf Ayub had participated in election-2002  under FA certificate and later he had filed fake degree of BA. He achieved success during 2013 polls on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Haripur. The rival candidate had filed petition in election tribunal against him and tribunal had declared him disqualified. Yusuf Ayub approached High Court against this decision and high court upheld the decision of tribunal. Later he resorted to SC.
