Islamabad - Capital Development Authority has suspended the services of its four officers for non-submission of their educational credentials.

According to the CDA officials, the subject officers were required to submit their educational credentials in Degree Verification Cell of the Authority. An office order to this effect has been issued by Human Resource Development Directorate. The suspension order has been issued after approval of Chairman, CDA.

Member Administration Muhammad Yasir Pirzada has said that issue of Degree Verification of officers and official of the Authority is being taken to its logical conclusion. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against officers and officials failing to submit their verified educational credentials. According to the office order, the services of Aziz-ur-Rehman, Assistant Manager Finance; Bashir Ahmed, DAO Environment; Mehfooz, Care Taker Parliament Lodges and Aziz-ur-Rehman, Sanitary Inspector have been put under suspension, they said.

Furthermore, CDA has cancelled layout plan approval of AGOCHS-I Housing Scheme, Zone-V, Islamabad. The layout plan of AGOCHS-I Housing Scheme sponsored by M/s Accounts Group Officers Cooperative Housing Society (AGOCHS) was approved by CDA over an area measuring 1114.14 kanals having 573 residential plots at Lohi Bher, Zone-V, Islamabad. Mayor Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that no housing society violating prescribed criteria will be allowed to operate in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the Mayor has said that operation against illegal constructions and encroachments will remain continue with zeal and vigour. In order to preserve natural beauty of the city encroachment in any shape would not be tolerated, he added. He said that CDA is also providing awareness to the public at large through advertisement campaign that any type of construction in Zone –III of Islamabad is completely prohibited under CDA Zoning Regulation 1992 so that greenery and foliage area of Zone – III could be protected.

However, it has also been observed that some Developers and persons are not only involved in sale / purchase of land in said Zone but also engaged in illegal construction, which is blatant violation of CDA Zoning Regulations, 1992. In this connection, CDA has already initiated action against individuals/developers involved in such illegal activities under prevailing law and also taking measures as per the directions of Supreme Court of Pakistan to restrict illegal sale and purchase of land and construction in Zone-III.
