We will make no distinction between terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbored them.
–George W. Bush
The September 11 attack on World Trade Center has been one of the biggest event of our time. It sent shock waves across the world. International relations and politics were suddenly plunged into the rhetoric of ‘us vs the terrorists’. It started one of the most expensive war of this century i.e the War Against Terror. One the most immediate reaction of 9/11 was the executive order given by George Bush on 13th November. The order authorized the formation of military tribunals for the “detention, treatment and trial of certain non-citizens in the war against terrorism.” The executive order evoked mixed response from the American people. The liberals criticized it for its undemocratic and unconstitutional nature. It also created this vague concept of terrorist which has been manipulated since by the Americans to achieve personals goals.
