Light rain in cities across Punjab late Monday night lowered the temperature and cleared smog.

Lahore, Multan, Sheikhupura, Sadiqabad and surrounding areas received light rainfall last night which lowered the temperature and also cleared smog.

Residents of the provincial capital, Chicha Watni, Chakwal, Lodhran and surrounding areas have been facing difficulties owing to smog.

A steady rise in carbon emissions, coupled with a spike in cross-border crop burning, has thickened the layer of smog enveloping the provincial metropolis and other parts of Punjab, reducing visibility and causing flight delays.
