RAWALPINDI(APP)- Following the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, the city district government has started working on the master plan to provide better quality flour and roti at Rs 2 to more than 1.5 million population of Rawalpindi city and cantonment. This was stated by District Coordination Officer (DC0) Rawalpindi Imdad Ullah Bosal, while talking to APP here on Sunday. Bosal said that according to master plan some 186,000 flour bags were being provided on daily basis, to 198 Awami Tandoors to ensure provision of roti at Rs. 2 to the public, saying these flour bags were being sold through dozens of Sunday Bazaars and  at eight specific points set up for this purpose, he added. He categorically refuted this impression that if there was any shortage or crises of flour in the district saying long consumers' queues are seen on these Awami (public) Tandoors to get roti at Rs. 2, adding therefore there was no question of flour crises or scarcity in Rawalpindi district. However , some complaints about shortage of flour in the areas including Dhowk Hassu, Dhowk Matkal Sadiqbad, and Muslim Town were received and administration while taking immediate cognizance dispatched adequate quantity of flour in these areas , he said and added at the moment,  there has been no shortage of flour in any part of Rawalpindi. DCO Imdad Ullah Bosal said in the first phase of master plan the flour was provided to the public through trucks at the specific points. Now provision of flour to the  public under second phase of the plan will be started  through traders' organization Anjuman-e- Tajran, shopkeepers and dealers from Monday today, he informed. DCO Imdad said through the second phase of the master plan the impression being created about the shortage of flour at the general markets will be ended and there would be sufficient amount of flour available at the general markets. He said the administration would be monitoring the markets to ensure selling of flour on the fixed rates saying price cootrol magistrates have beEn conducting raids on daily basis to ensure the implementation of government decision. Imdad ullah Bosah said that in order to ensure provision of flour to the people at the fixed points, the number  of these points have been enhanced from 25 to 35 points.  He said roti is being sold at Rs. 2 at 198 Public or Awami Tandoors in the city and cantonments areas saying the Tandoor owners have been in contact for registrations for  provision of flour bag at Rs. 250 so that they also sell roti at Rs. 2.
