TORONTO (Agencies) - Pakistan cricket captain, Shoaib Malik attributes the success of reaching the final in Toronto T20 tournament with the young team who beat Sri Lanka in a thrilling manner. "It was a collective effort made by the players who turned the table on the opponents at a time when the situation was quite difficult for us at 91 for 7," he said. He said Fawad Alam impressed with stroke play and led to success with one b all remaining. "I want to give credit to the younger ones with such fine performances when they are in the process of blending themselves in fine cricketers," he shared. He admitted that at one stage defeat was quite near but the responsible batting of Fawad and him snatched a narrow victory. Malik scored 42 off 33 balls and in the final over with Fawad added 23 off just eight deliveries He is delighted to see his team winning."It was a crunch stage of the match which was almost slipped away from our hands and I found a strong partner in Fawad and together we brought a win for Pakistan," he said. " Reaching final is an achievement and we must carry on to this performance." He assured "We will be able again to meet Lanka in the final  what is important for us to avoid making mistakes and to show improvement in all departments of the game ",he said. Malik claimed that final seems to be tough as Lanka will be desperate to  take revenge  so he expects a higher level of performance from all the players. "A title success is always a big inspiration to do better in future events and we are here to win this tournament as we are close to success and only hard work and commitment can led us to victory" ,he said. Lankan regular captain Mahela Jayawardene who was left out of the team against Pakistan said that it was unfortunate to suffer a defeat after being close. "We were not expecting but Pakistani batsmen proved too good", he said
