Our Staff Reporter MIRPUR (AJK) - A historic rousing reception awaits Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on his arrival in Mirpur on Thursday (today) on a day-long trip to inaugurate the mega project of raising of the country's second biggest reservoir Mangla dam and a giant Dhan Galli bridge over Jehlum River in Dadayal Town of the district, official sources said. AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed here Wednesday said that PM Gilani would be accorded a rousing reception on his visit to AJK. He was chairing a high level meeting held here on Wednesday to review and give final touches to the arrangements about the scheduled programme of Pakistan's Prime Minister Gilani's visit to Mangla and Dadayal towns of the district. The meeting was attended among others by various AJK ministers, secretaries to the government and officials of Mirpur division and district administration. The meeting reviewed the foolproof security arrangements for the visit. Speaking on the occasion Ch Abdul Majeed said that President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani were taking keen interest in the early rehabilitation of Mangla dam affectees. He said that the incumbent government of Pakistan takes with high the sacrifices of people of Mirpur district rendered for the construction and now for raising of the country's second largest reservoir - Mangla dam for the speedy economic progress and prosperity of Pakistan. The release of generous financial assistance by the government of Pakistan for the timely rehabilitation and resettlement of Mangla dam affectees was the ample proof of this reality, the AJK Prime Minister added.
