ISLAMABAD - The main opposition party PML-N has decided to go in-between on the appointment of Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bokhari as Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), sources said on Wednesday. Decision to this effect was taken during a consultative meeting of the partys senior leaders chaired by Nawaz Sharif here at the Punjab House. According to the informed sources, the meeting discussed threadbare the pros and cons of the governments move to appoint the former naval chief as NAB Chairman. The meeting, attended by party senior leaders including Raja Zafar ul Haq, Sartaj Aziz, Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and Mehtab Abbasi, decided to take firm opposition over President Zardaris letter to the Leader of Opposition Ch Nisar Ali Khan. The sources said that Ch. Nisar Ali Khan would ostensibly oppose the nomination of Bokhari on technical grounds, but his appointment would not be opposed in the light of SC decision. The meeting decided to seek more input from constitutional experts over Supreme Courts decision regarding appointment of NAB Chairman. The meeting also discussed the overall political situation in the country and decided to take on the government for its bad governance that has led to the serious power crisis, gas loadshedding, unemployment and rampant inflation affecting the common man. Meanwhile, in a related development, US Ambassador Cameron Munter met with PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and discussed matters relating to bilateral relations between the united Sates and Pakistan.
