New chairman appointment wont affect board: Naushad

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Pakistan cricket team interim manager Col (retd) Naushad Ali said that appointment of Zaka Ashraf as new PCB chairman would not affect board as many presidents came and went but system remained the same. Talking to media here on Wednesday at Gaddafi Stadium, the interim manager said: Chairmen come and go but the offices and their systems remained the same. Every chairman tries to play his effective role in promoting the game and I am hopeful the new chairman will do his best to boost cricket across the country. He said that to maintain discipline during the Sri Lanka series would be our main focus. To maintain the discipline during the series will be our main focus and violator would be dealt with iron hand, he remarked. Pakistan cricket suffered a lot due to match-fixing scandal but it was time to set aside all those issues and just focus on cricket and performance. The players in the camp are working hard and we are hopeful they will perform well against Sri Lanka to win series, he maintained. The team would leave for UAE where they would open their series against Sri Lanka with Test match commencing from October 18.
