LAHORE Acting chairman Emergency Response Committee Gulberg Town Nighat Sheikh MPA has ordered to prepare master plan for removal of garbage and stagnant water from the servant quarters of private and government residences. This was decided in meeting of Town Municipal Authority Gulberg Town, held here on Wednesday. The MPA told the meeting that presence of Larva and growth of mosquitoes at these servant quarters of government officers was observed but was ignored so far. She also directed the departments concerned to focus such areas for eradication of larva and mosquitoes by conducting insecticide spray and fogging. The meeting also took decision to establish six points in each union council in consultation with local public representatives and the committees formed by them would distribute free kits to the dengue patients in their homes. Meanwhile, acting Chairman Dengue Control Committee Nishter Town, MPA Ramzan Siddique Bhatti has said that free of cost treatment facilities to the Dengue patients are being provided in public sector as well as private hospitals, whereas, awareness campaign has shown positive results. He directed the Nishter town administration to conduct spray regularly in the urban and rural areas of the town and to improve the cleanliness and hygienic conditions. He expressed these views by presiding over the town administration meeting attended by Ex-MPA Rana Mubasher Iqbal, TMO, officials of local bodies, health, special branch and other departments. MPA Ramzan Siddique Bhatti directed town administration, sanitation & sold waste management authorities to remove the encroachments, debris and waste specially from the UCs located in rural areas of the town and spray chemicals on the dumping points. He emphasized the need for more efforts to create awareness regarding Dengue virus among the women.
