SADIQABAD A police constable along with over a dozen accomplices reportedly fractured a landowners legs and arms and thrashed his spouse for offering resistance to the cops endeavour to grab property. The accused also set the owners cottages on fire and stripped womens clothes off. In addition, the victims have been refused by the local police to take action against their fellow and his accomplices. Thus, the victims took to the District Police Office and staged a protest demonstration against the offence and appealed to the District Coordination Order to provide them with right to justice. According to report, Khamisa, a resident of Chak 112 1/L, was at home with his family when Constable Irfan along with his accomplices including Imran and Nazir among others attacked his cottages built on the government property. The family offered resistance. Resultantly, they thrashed and fractured Khamisas legs and arms. Meanwhile, they allegedly set the cottages ablaze, took off his wife and mothers cloths and took possession of the property. The locals shifted Khamisa to Rural Health Centre Baghobahar. However the victims thronged the DPO office and staged a protest demonstration. They demanded registration of a case against the cop and his accomplices besides retrieving the land. According to details, the family started residing on the land a many years ago by building cottages. Earlier, the accused attacked the land to grab but their bid was foiled by the family with the help of villagers. Khamisa had filed an application with Islam Garh police station against the accused but the law enforcers jostled them and expelled them from the police station besides threatening them not to come to the station again.
