Our Staff Reporter KOT ADDU - A sit-in will be staged in front of the gates of sugar mills if the sugar mills administrations fail to offer reasonable rates to the grower for their produce. The mills owner should also bear that in mind that the farmer can also cut off sugarcane supply if their rights were not protected. This was stated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tehsil President Abdul Khaliq Qamar, Organiser Circle PP-251 Imran Rafeeq Buttar and Organiser Circle PP-252 Mian Mustafa Qureshi. They were addressing a press conference here at press club on Wednesday. On the occasion, they demanded 70 per cent quota for the local residents and said that the mills administration should offer flat rates to all farmers. They pointed out that the PTI believes in peaceful protest. They disclosed they were serving legal notices to mills administration and district administration for their demands and if their demands were not fulfilled then sugarcane supply would be cut off to the mills. They informed that in the past few farmers were obliged by mills administration but now they would have to oblige the entire farmers' community otherwise a peaceful protest would be launched against them, adding that if any hurdle in this regards was created the mill administration would be responsible. They informed that in the past the PTI had been staging sit-in against drone attacks, corruption, unemployment and price hike. They claimed that after an amicable resolution to this issue, the party would take up the issues of Kapco and local hospital. Kissan Board District President Haji Mohammad Hanif Wainse, Advocate Mudasar Nawaz, Malik Sajjad Hanjra and others leaders were also present on the occasion.
