ISLAMABAD (APP) - Former law minister Babar Awan Wednesday said the Sharif brothers plan to dissolve the Punjab Assembly to break the electoral college of Senate had failed. The people will not elect them in the upcoming general elections as they are taking undemocratic steps, he said while talking to the media. He said the Sharif brothers conspiracy indicated that they were afraid of their defeat in the upcoming Senate elections. Twelve years ago, a loving general of Nawaz Sharif who was promoted on nepotism, attacked the democratic government, he said, adding that Nawaz Sharif staged a sit-in against the PPP government instead of holding protests against Pervez Musharrafs illegal actions. The Parliament questions as to why they have no courage to stage any sit-in during the nine-year tenure of their loving general, Babar said. The former minister said Nawaz Shairf was following the policy of their beloved generals, including Ziaul Haq and Musharraf. In reply to a question, he said the Punjab government had allocated Rs1.6 billion for the fumigation drive but due to its negligence, the death toll was raising. Despite hundreds of deaths, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif neither hold the Cabinet meeting nor made any disaster committee to overcome the challenge, Babar added. He said that the Punjab chief minister was enjoying the powers of 19 departments, including ministries. In reply to another question, he said the government was building dozens of new dams for generating power but the Sharif brothers had never generated a single megawatt in their tenure.
