Voters' lists preparation in full swing

OUR STAFF REPORTER SARGODHA - Election Commission of Pakistan Member Justice (r) Riaz Kiyani said that work for the preparation of new voters' lists was in full swing and would be finished till December 31, 2011. Presided over a meeting at Circuit House Sargodha, he said that double registration or bogus votes were being expelled for the assurance of fair and transparent elections. He said for this purpose trained teachers had been assigned to conduct door-to-door visits for accurate registration of voters. Later, he said, these lists would be sent to Nadra for final verification. Mr Kiyani further said that no one could cast a vote without his computerised national identity card. Meanwhile, Provincial Election Commissioner Akhtar Hussain Sabir, Sargodha Division Commissioner Shaukat Ali, DCO Azmat Mehmood, Sargodha Election Commissioner Muhammad Arif, Assistant Election Commissioner Muhammad Saleem, MPA Tayyba Zamir, Nizamddin Sialwi, Kamir Shamail Gujjar, EDO Education Muhammad Mansha and others attended the meeting.
