KARACHI-An eye-witness in the case pertaining to the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid has identified two suspects over involvement in the attack on the PTI leader who was gunned down on May 18 last year.

The suspects identified by the eye-witness today were Rashid alias Master and Zahid Abbas Zaidi whose physical remand was recently extended by an anti-terrorism court hearing the case, reported a private TV channel.

The two will be in police custody following which the Investigation Office (IO) will produce them before the ATC along with a progress report on the case.

The prosecution says that the senior PTI leader was gunned down on May 18, 2013 inside her home in Karachi’s Defence House Authority (DHA).

Following her killing, a case was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Gizri police station. Junaid Bukhari, Tariq Nawab and Asif, aka Ganja, were absconders in the case.
