LAHORE - With huge investments in the latest technology and extending fastest internet services, Zong has succeeded in maintaining its number one slot with 3,094,683 3G and 132,502 4G/LTE users by the end of July 2015.

According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA’s) latest figures, total data users in Pakistan stood at 14,614,411 at the end of July. Zong has 132,502 4G subscribers with having coverage in 11 cities and Warid managed to get 121,602 users with having coverage in 17 cities.

PTA’s latest figures indicate that the number of 3G/4G subscribers is continuously increasing. Telecom users have multiple options for 3G services as Mobilink, Telenor, Ufone and Zong are offering state-of-the-art 3G services. However, only two companies Zong and Warid are giving 4G LTE services to customers. Along with 4G subscribers, the Chinese company has fetched additional 3,094,684 3G subscribers, whereas its competitor managed to get 121,602 4G/LTE users.

After 3G/4G revolution in Pakistan, Zong was the first one to launch 4G/LTE services after getting 4G license for $210 million along with 3G licenses, which totaled $902.82 million.

CEO Zong, when contacted, was of the opinion, “Zong believes in providing best quality services to its customers. We always come up with latest technology on affordable rates but never compromised on quality of our services, therefore, we are now enjoying highest number of active 4G subscribers.”
