ISLAMABAD - Asif Memorial Cricket Club handed Rawalpindi Rams 8-wicket thrashing in friendly cricket match yesterday. Thanks mainly to superb unbeaten 113 by Salman Haider and unbeaten 57 by Ali Sarfraz, Asif Memorial achieved the 253 runs target in 40 overs losing only two wickets. Batting first Rams were all out for 252 45 overs. Taimoor top scored with 79 and Talha Qureshi made 50. Samiuallah took 3 for 61 while Hamza also chipped in with 2 for 32. Salman was in awesome form with the willow as he hit 16 fours and 3 towering sixes in his 113 runs knock, while Ali Sarfraz hit seven fours in his 57 runs innings. Rizwan Akbar took one wicket for Rams. Rawalpindi head coach Sabih Azhar must rethink his planning as the premier tournament Quaid Trophy is just round the corner.
