ISLAMABAD - Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid yesterday asked Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to shun negative politics for the betterment of the country.

He said that Ayaz Sadiq’s victory proved fairness in general elections 2013. He advised Khan to forget the past and work together with the government for the development, prosperity and better future of the country.

Talking to newsmen, he urged PTI to play its positive role in and outside the parliament and give its suggestions to the government to overcome challenges of terrorism, energy shortage, unemployment and poverty.

The minister said by-election in NA 122 has proved that there were no fifty thousand fake votes. He said the Judicial Inquiry Commission report has already proved the allegations leveled by Imran Khan as wrong.

Rashid said by-election results verified the fairness of the 2013 general election and PTI candidate also secured PP-147 seat. The minister said the ruling party candidate got more than forty-five thousand votes in NA-144 Okara despite the fact that no party leader participated in his election campaign, whereas, Chairman PTI also addressed the public gathering there. He said that after aggressive campaign in Okara, PTI candidate could only get over six thousand votes. He said the victorious candidate from Okara Riazul Haq has said he is a worker of PML-N in a statement.

Rashid said: “All political leadership of the country need to work together for the development of the country to provide a better Pakistan to the coming generations.”
