Former President Musharraf has committed crimes against the people of Balochistan having murdered their elders. He is responsible for ordering the killing of hundreds of orphan girls ensconced in the Lal Masjid compound. It was Musharraf who usurped the constitution, arrested over 66 members of the superior judiciary, and indulged in rampant corruption. He has committed serious crimes against the people of Pakistan and nobody including our PM or President or leaders of the opposition have a right to pardon him. We respect the sovereignty of the Saudi government and hold their royalty in high esteem but also expect them to respect the feelings and emotions of the people of Pakistan. Their intervention must cease for the sake of brotherly relations between our two Muslim states. Musharraf is guilty of ordering the murder of Akbar Bugti and thousands of others. The Holy Quran is clear on the punishment for crimes as grave as this and no one has the right to change that. -RASHID ORAKZAI, Quetta, via e-mail, September 2.
