A team of the District Livestock Department raided an illegal slaughterhouse and seized 280 kilograms of unhygienic meat.
The team, flanked by the police, carried out the raid in Ahmedpura locality of Sheikhupura on Saturday.
Acting on complaints, the livestock team raided the illegal slaughterhouse and caught two butchers selling unhygienic meat. The team also disposed of the seized meat. The police registered a case against the two butchers.
DCO Sheikhupura Kiran Khurshid said that the slaughterhouse was being run in the area for the past 20 years.
