MULTAN - Three out of two overall top positions were grabbed by girls in Higher Secondary School certificate annual examination 2018 as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education declared result here on Wednesday.

Samreen Shahid, Roll No-612604, student of a private college, stood first with 1,052 marks while Unaiza Fatima, Roll No-601803, student of a school in Dunyapur, remained second with a difference of just one mark. She got 1051 marks. Ahmad Hassan, Roll No-607057, was declared third with 1050 marks.

Controller of Examination, BISE Multan, Dr Zafar Iqbal, declared the result who disclosed that a total of 68,081 candidates appeared in the examination out of which 40,767 got through with 59.88 per cent success ratio. He further disclosed that a total of 17,108 candidates appeared in examination under Pre-medical group and 14,770 were declared successful with 86.33 per cent pass percentage. Similarly, as many as 11,818 candidates took examination under Pre-Engineering Group and 9,114 qualified with 77.12 per cent success ratio. The passing percentage in General Science Group stood at 48.22 percent as just 4,510 out of 9,353 candidates were declared pass.

In Commerce Group, 1,719 out of 3,268 candidates qualified the examination, showing 52.60 percent success ratio. As many as 26,534 candidates appeared in the examination under Humanities Group out of which 10,654 got through with 40.15 per cent success ratio.

POSITION HOLDERS PRE-MEDICAL (BOYS)

The overall third position holder Ahmad Hassan stood first in this group. Muhammad Osama, Roll No-606979, student of a private college, was declared second with 1049 marks and Muhammad Ahmad, Roll No-613002, student of a private college, third with 1046 marks.

POSITION HOLDERS PRE-MEDICAL (GIRLS)

The first two overall top position holders — Samreen Shahid and Unaiza Fatima — were declared first and second respectively in this group. Maryam Sana, Roll No-1048, student of a private college, stood third with 604308 marks.

POSITION HOLDERS PRE-ENGINEERING (BOYS)

Syed Muhammad Afnan, Roll No-649932, student of a private college, was declared first with 1044 marks while Ali Raza, Roll No-645010, student of Allama Iqbal HSS Shujabad, second with 1042 marks and Mamnoonul Husnain, Roll No-649608, student of a private college, third with 1036 marks.

POSITION HOLDERS PRE-ENGINEERING (GIRLS)

Nisha Sarwar, Roll No-644377, student of Government College for Women Vehari, topped the group with 1024 marks while Misbah Fatima, Roll No-643089, student of a private college, stood second with 1018 marks and Iram Fatima, Roll No-644260, student of a private college, third with 1017 marks.

POSITION HOLDERS GENERAL SCIENCE (BOYS)

Muhammad Nabeel, Roll No-684309, student of a private college, was declared first with 1021 marks, Syed Murtajiz Hussain, Roll No-685258, student of a private college, second with 1009 marks and Syed Sajeel Mohsin, Roll No-685259, student of a private college, third with 983 marks.

POSITION HOLDERS GENERAL SCIENCE (GIRLS)

Fatima, Roll No-685578, student of a private college stood first with 1019 marks, Aneeqa Asghar, Roll No-687956, second with 1004 marks and Mehrun Nissa, Roll No-688350, third with 1002 marks.

The result ceremony was chaired by Commissioner Multan Division Nadem Irshad Kiyani, who is also chairman of BISE Multan. He distributed prizes among the position holders.
