In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops - in a fresh act of state terrorism - martyred seven youth in Sopore, Kupwara and Riasi areas of the territory, on Thursday.

The youths were shot during cordon and search operations by Indian troops. The Joint Resistance Leadership has described the statement of new UN rights chief, Michelle Bachelet as a ray of hope for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, facing the brunt of human rights violations at the hands of Indian occupation forces.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed on the second consecutive day in Langate, Handwara and Zaengeer areas of North Kashmir against the killing of two youth by the troops, on Tuesday. The Kashmir Journalists Association also held a protest rally at Lal Chowk in Srinagar to express solidarity with the illegally detained journalist, Aasif Sultan.

People of Sopore will go on strike, tomorrow, against the gruesome murder of Hurriyat activist, Hakeemur Rehman and other killings at the hands of Indian forces. On the other hand, the UN has listed India and Israel, among 38 shameful countries, which carried out intimidation against people cooperating with the World Body on human rights, through killings, torture and arbitrary arrests.
