Commissioner Karachi hands over football kits to Karachi FC

LAHORE - Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon on Monday handed over football kits to Karachi Football Club of Lyari, which is registered with District South and affiliated to Sweden Town Football Club of England. 
According to information made available here, a function was held at the Commissioner’s Office in which Club Manager Jameel Ahmed Hout, Ghulam Muhammad Khan and Ahmed Pasha were also present. On this occasion, the Commissioner said: “The way Karachi Football Club is raising its position in football, I hope that the country will get international footballers from this club. 
“Lyari has produced renowned players for the country including Turab Ali, Captain Muhammad Umar, Ali Nawaz, Abdul Khaliq, Ghulam Abbas Baloch, Abdul Aziz and now I hope this club will continue to produce champions for the country,” he added. 
On this occasion, DFA President Jameel Ahmed Hout expressed his gratitude to Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon for this donation on behalf of the players of South District and especially Lyari and said: “I am very hopeful that Karachi Football Club will meet your expectations and it will provide more champions to the country.”
USMAN GHANI SHAHEED BASKETBALL FROM 17TH
The Usman Ghani Shaheed Basketball Tournament will be played at International Abdul Nasir Aram Bagh Court from September 17 while the final will be played on September 27. Tournament Director Ghulam Muhammad Khan has said that the winners will be awarded hefty cash prizes. All the interested teams can contact Secretary Zafar Iqbal by September 14.
