Bilour's remarks immoral: JI

LAHORE - Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch has condemned ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilours sarcastic remarks about Abbottabad killings and termed it inhuman and immoral. Expressing grief over the deaths caused by police firing on the people protesting against renaming of the province as Khyber Pakhtoobkhwa, the JI leader said the ANP governments attitude was undemocratic. Baloch said the new name was not acceptable to the people of Hazara who had been expressing their sentiments for quite some time but the authorities in Peshawar and Islamabad did not pay heed to it. Had the people belonging to Hazara been consulted, the loss of precious lives could have been avoided, he said. He reiterated the JI stance that the issue should be resolved through consensus. He counseled the ANP to demonstrate flexibility and shun violence. He said the attitude of the ruling parties had intensified ethnic and regional tendencies. He further said a serious question before the parliament was whether to retain the number of federating units at four or to increase these in accordance with the peoples wishes.
