LAHORE (PR) - A seminar on Islamic Banking and Finance was held by the joint association of AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Director Islamic Banking, State Bank of Pakistan Saleemullah was Guest of Honor in the seminar and. Abdul Majeed Haji Muhammad, President, KCCI chaired the seminar. Saqib Zeeshan, Corporate Head, Pak Qatar Takaful, Salman Ali, Head of Product Development, Meezan Bank and Zubair Mughal, CEO, AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics delivered their speeches on different aspects of Islamic banking and finance. The programme was successfully held with the kind patronage of Atiq ur Rehman, Chairman, Banking and Association Committee, KCCI. Addressing to the seminar, Saleemullah said that Islamic banking and finance is rapidly developing in Pakistan. He further added that Islamic banking and finance is supposed to promote up to 12pc in 2010 in Pakistan. He emphasized on all the stakeholders of Islamic banking and finance in Pakistan to join hands with each other for its promotion and he praised the effort of AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics to promote this cause. He added that there is glorious future of Islamic banking exists in Pakistan. Before that, Abdul Majeed, President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry eulogized the seminar on the topic of Islamic Banking and Takaful in KCCI. He exclaimed that the industrialists in Pakistan welcomed Islamic banking openheartedly and they have started utilising Islamic banking for catering their industrial needs. He said to the Islamic banking to extend their products so that the industrialists could benefit from them and they should only rely on Islamic banking for their needs. Ateeq ur Rehman, Chairman Banking and Insurance Company, KCCI said that Islamic banking and Takaful is promoting in Pakistan very fastly. He wished for the promotion of investment and Islamic banking and Takaful.
