LAHORE - Sajada Nasheen Chora Sharif Pir Syed Mohammad Kabir Ali Shah said that Editor-in-Chief The Nation Majid Nizami is a heroic figure who has been safeguarding ideological boundaries of Pakistan since its creation. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony 70-years Perpetual Struggle of 'Nawa-i-Waqt at Hameed Nizami Hall on Tuesday. He said ulema and Mushaikh played key role during Pakistan Movement by extending their cooperation with the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in framing the state. Pir Kabir said Nawa-i-Waqt played unprecedented role while unearthing the false propagation of Hindu Press against Pakistan. He said Quaid-i-Azam urged his grandfather Hazrat Khawaja Ahmad Nabi Shah Gillani to join Muslim League as a result of which he spread the message of the Quaid and Muslim League in each corner of the sub-continent. Ahmad Nabi Shah urged his followers to join Muslim League otherwise he would disconnect from them, he further added. Pir Kabir said Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah termed this struggle a war between Islam and Atheism. Jammat Ali Shah also gifted the Holy Quran along with other sacred books to the Quaid and Mr Jinnah had also replied him writing a letter that he would definitely achieve the destination as he was accompanied by such loyal friends, Pir further said. On this occasion Majid Nizami said, My mission is to transform Pakistan into an Islamic democratic welfare state. The offspring of the poor should also attain the fundamental rights of free education and medical treatment. Nizami said he opposed all military and civil dictators. I pray to Almighty Allah to lend me long life so that I may complete my mission, he added. Majid Nizami further said Almighty Allah has bestowed upon him fourth life as he was operated three times, adding daily Nawa-i-Waqt should have the courage to play vital role in safeguarding ideology of Pakistan after his demise. Syed Haroon Shah Gillani said Quaid-i-Azam adopted the philosophy of Hazrat Allama Iqal while Nawa-i-Waqt inculcated this doctrine into coming generations so the nation was grateful to this prestigious newspaper. Dr Parvin Shaukat on this occasion said she was feeling pride while participating in the 70th birthday of Nawa-i-Waqt. Majid Nizami is torchbearer of truth in journalism and the true voice of the people of downtrodden, she added. Allama Mansha Tabbish Kasuri said the role of Nawa-i-Waqt was praise worthy in current situation so it was the morale obligation of the masses to render their lives for this esteemed organisation. Sahibzada Khalid Hassan Mujadidi also spoke on the occasion.
