ISLAMABAD - PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that his party wants strengthening of democratic institutions in the country, besides urging the US to stop drones attacks as such steps are fuelling hatred against the United States among the people of Pakistan. He said this during his luncheon meeting with the US Ambassador Anne W Patterson here at the US Embassy on Tuesday. The PML-N leader Senator Pervez Rasheed informed TheNation that the US envoy invited Nawaz Sharif over the lunch and they also exchanged views on host of issues including war on terror. Sources informed that Nawaz urged the US to compensate Pakistan for the losses suffered by it during the war on terror, as this war had affected Pakistan economy adversely. Reciprocating these suggestions, the US Ambassador assured Nawaz that her country would continue to play its role for stability of democratic order in Pakistan, adding US wanted robust and integrated relations with Pakistan. She was of the view that PML-N was a key political party of Pakistan and her country would forge better relationship with it. Others who accompanied Nawaz and attended the luncheon were Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Javed Hashmi and Ahsan Iqbal.
