ISLAMABAD - Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Tariq Majid has said that Pakistan would place its first indigenous satellite PakSat-IR in the orbit within the stipulated time. General Tariq Majid made this announcement during his visit to the Space Research and Development Centre of SUPARCO in Lahore on Tuesday. During the visit, he was briefed regarding Pakistans Space and Satellite Programme. He visited various facilities where the development work related to Pakistans satellite PakSat-1R was being undertaken by highly trained Pakistani scientists and engineers. The CJCSC also inaugurated a newly constructed laboratory. While appreciating the hard work and dedication of young engineers and scientist, he expressed satisfaction that SUPARCO will be able to place Pakistans first indigenous satellite in the orbit within the stipulated time. Earlier, on his arrival, Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General (Retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai and Chairman SUPARCO Major General (Retired) Raza Hussain received the CJCSC.
