Peshawar - Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq on Sunday said that there was no option left with the rulers except to hold dialogues with Taliban and it was very important for both army and government to be on the same page regarding the ongoing peace process.
He said this while addressing a press conference here at the Markaz-e-Islami Peshawar where Ameer Jamaat-u-Dawa Hafiz Saeed, Provincial Information Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Israrullah advocate, former provincial minister Kashif Azam Chasti, Provincial Deputy Secretary General JI Hidyatullah were also present on the occasion.
Sirajul Haq said that all issues related to Pakistan’s security must be given due importance as our future is linked with this country. “We must bring unity among our ranks to defend the motherland against any aggression and conspiracy,” he added.
Commenting on existing hurdles in the way of dialogues, Sirajul Haq said that Jamaat-e-Islami was playing its due role in the ongoing peace process.
He said that those elements, which are creating hurdles in the way of peace process, are actually giving harm to the country as well as Pakistan army. He said that such complicated issues could not be resolved in a month but it would take time.
He urged both government and army to adopt a unanimous stance for resolving the lingering issue of terrorism. He said that JI will fully back the ongoing process of negotiations and would play its due role to make it successful.
Earlier, he also addressed a group of Islami Jamiat Tulba Nazimeen of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He urged upon the youth to focus on their education and play its role for development of the country.
On this occasion, Amir Jamaat-u-Dawa Hafiz Saeed congratulated the newly elected Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islmai and prayed that God may succeed him in his mission.

Staff Reporter from Lahore adds: JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has impressed upon the government and the Taliban to continue efforts for peace and the country’s solidarity without making anything an issue of prestige.  Addressing a seminar organised by Jamiat-e-Ittehad-ul-Ulema at the Ulema Academy on Sunday, he also advised the Taliban not to opt for any other course after ceasefire. He said that it was the agenda of the enemies of Islam and Pakistan to create bad blood between the people and the armed forces and pit them against each other.
The JI Secretary General said that the US had been defeated in Afghanistan and the years 2014 and 2015 were highly important for the entire world, especially the Muslim World. The Muslim world, he said, was passing through difficult times and the Muslims’ blood was being shed in Kashmir, Palestine and Burma. In Egypt, the elected government of President Mursi had been toppled at US behest and thousands of innocent people had been put behind bars. In Bangladesh, the leadership of the JI was facing hardships and hangings, while in Pakistan attempts were being made to divide the nation on sectarian basis. Therefore, it was time to rise above petty differences and forge unity to defeat the enemy agenda. He said that an international Conference for Muslim Unity would be held in Islamabad on April 15. Eminent scholars from different countries, including Saudi Arabia, Palestine ad Egypt, had been invited to the moot.
