Top militant among 5 dead in KP clash

PESHAWAR - At least five militants including a key commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a clash with security forces in Frontier Region Peshawar on Sunday.
Sources said security forces launched an operation in a semi-tribal area of Peshawar and killed Jangraiz Khan, a key commander along with four accomplices affiliated with banned outfit of militant.
Police said the area did not come under their jurisdiction as it was a semi-tribal area where security forces and Frontier Constabulary were mostly engaged in search operations.  It is believed that Jangraiz group was involved in various acts of terrorism in FR Peshawar, Matni, Budhabir, Suleman Khel and other areas.
Agencies add: The operation was jointly launched by police and security forces.
Reportedly, Peshawar police and security forces Sunday launched a joint operation in Matni and Kala Khel, suburbs of provincial capital. Upon receiving a tip-off, security forces launched a raid and killed top militant commander in encounter.
Credible sources said Janrgaiz Khan, a top commander of Tehreek-i-Taliban Bara Tehsil, was also among dead. They said the commander was wanted in several terror activities in the provincial metropolis.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jangraiz Khan is the same person who was seen in a gruesome video that went viral on internet a few months ago showing him playing football with the decapitated heads of security personnel with other Taliban members. The video was apparently recorded at the Pak-Afghan border area.
However, some reports said the militants were killed in the Darra Adam Khel border area with Frontier Region of Peshawar.
