LAHORE - Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri yesterday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has lost moral authority to rule the country after Panama Leaks exposed the corruption of Sharif family.

Addressing a press conference at PAT head office via video link from Canada, Qadri held that the leaks provided enough proof to send Sharifs behind bars.

“Proofs are enough in exposing Sharifs corruption. Further investigation is not required on the issue as no world leader denied revelations of Panama papers,” he said.

“Sharifs should be arrested and interrogated then they will reveal many more crimes they have committed. But only independent Parliament, FIA, FBR and NAB can act against their crime which unfortunately are not,” he maintained.

Dr Qadri said that PAT would make contacts with other political parties on Panama Leaks issue and tried to develop a unanimous consensus on what he termed the ruling family corruption. But, he added, the issue of Model Town killing would remain top on the agenda if we lodge any protest movement in future.

To a question, he replied that PTI had not invited his party to take part in its April 24 protest.

The PAT would consider the option to joint the PTI protest on invitation, he added. Tahirul Qadri said that on March 21, 2016, Hassan Nawaz (son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif) purchased a property in One Hyde Park London worth 42.5 million pounds and the papers were made and signed on March 30, 2016.

The story of Sharif family’s corruption in Pakistan stretched over 35 years, he alleged.

He also alleged that the rulers joined hands with extremists and terrorists to win the 2013 elections and they provided funding to those terrorists in return of their reward.

He further said that Nawaz Sharif went abroad for settling down his accounts and corruption instead of medical check up.

He lauded the recent statement of the Army Chief in which COAS stated that collaboration between corruption and terrorism was a serious threat to the very existence of the country.

He asked the nation to stand against corruption as it was their religious and moral obligation.
