Defending champions Sindh, Army, Wapda and Punjab moved into the semifinals of the 15th National Women Netball Championship 2016, after registering contrasting victories against their respective opponents in the league matches played here Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director National Federations M Azam Dar was the chief guest at the occasion, while Director Media Shazia Ejaz, Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) president Mudassar Arain along with other dignitaries and spectators were also present there. The first semifinal will be played between Sindh and Punjab while in the second semifinal, Army will take on Wapda.

In the first match of the day, Army routed Islamabad 32-8. Aisha was the star for the winners, as she scored a whopping 31 goals, while Erum scored one goal. In the second match, Punjab outpaced Fata 27-7 goals with Mishbah emerging top scorer for Punjab with 22 goals, while Aneta scored five. In the third match, Wapda thrashed KP 48-0 with Laila thrashing 33 goals and Rizwana contributing 15. In the fourth match, Sindh got walkover against LUMS while in the fifth and last match of the day, Islamabad beat Fata 13-4 with Eiman scoring seven and Saba six goals.

In the male category of the championship, Police beat Balochistan 33-4, Sindh beat KP 33-15, Army beat Balochistan 48-2 and Police beat KP 37-10.
