Turkish team meets Punjab speaker

LAHORE: Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan at the Punjab Assembly yesterday.
“All the Islamic countries should enhance trade among themselves as Pakistan and Turkey are setting example,” said mr Kahraman who was leading an 11-member delegation.
He added that the friendship of Turkey and Pakistan is based on brotherhood, mutual understanding and sincerity. “Both the countries have always stood with each other in every crucial situation.”
Rana Iqbal, during the meeting, said: “Whenever Pakistanis suffers with any natural calamity, they found their Turkish brothers standing with them. We feel proud to have good relations with Turkey.
“It is really a matter of immense pleasure that Turkey is investing huge amount in several mega projects being carried out in Punjab.” Ambassador of Turkey Sadik Babur and provincial secretary Rai Mumtaz Hussain Babar were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the Turkish delegation, Rana Iqbal said that Pakistan was a frontline fighter against terrorism. He strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Istambul and Ankara, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved Turkish families. He said that Pakistan being victim of terrorism, could feel pain of Turkish affected families who had lost their loved ones in the recent terror attacks.
Mr Ismail Kahrman also planted a golden areca palm in the lawn of the Punjab Assembly.–PR
