SIALKOT/SAMBRIAL-The police arrested three out of four accused nominated in the murder of case of journalist Zeeshan Ashraf Butt, 17 days after the brutal killing.
According to police, they have arrested Usman alias Sheeshu, son of Suleman, resident of Begowala; Shahid, son of Arif, resident of Begowala and Saqlain alias Maula, son of Mumtaz Taidi, resident of Fazalpura-Sambrial.
The police, however, yet to arrest the main accused Imran Aslam Cheema, the PML-N-backed Begowala UC chairman. The local journalists and the bereaved family have protested the police for not arresting the main accused.
The police have assured the bereaved family and journalist community that they will arrest main accused soon.
Police officials also said that the police have also recovered the car of Imran from the house of his sister in village Kandan Sayyan-Daska, which he left there and fled away by taking her sister's car.
On March 27, 2018, Imran Aslam had shot dead Sambrial-based journalist Zeeshan Ashraf Butt, the correspondent of Nawa-i-Waqt at Sambrial.
