He said it was necessary to unveil the characters behind the conspiracy. “It would be a betrayal to the people of Pakistan and a breach of the Constitution of the country if the state institutions, particularly the Supreme Court, didn’t hold a comprehensive investigation,” he said. He said the SC should initiate a probe into the matter at the earliest and constitute a commission without any delay. He criticised newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for offering the PTI a probe committee, saying that he is a dummy prime minister and he himself is a party to the case.
Fawad also paid tributes to the people of Pakistan for their reaction to the ousting of ex-PM Imran Khan. He said the people would come out to force the system to announce general elections at the earliest. “If we want to block Islamabad, we can do it tomorrow,” he added. Fawad Chaudhry said that the only solution to the ongoing political situation in the country was holding fresh elections.
He said all the members of PTI have resigned and written resignations of all the members were also handed over to the Speaker’s office. He said that now delaying tactics were being used and their resignations were not accepted so far.
