I want to draw the attention of law enforcing agencies and the ruling MQM towards the troubles that residents of my locality have been facing for years. I live in a suburban town of the city named Qasba Colony, Manghupir Road, Karachi. In our town, the incidents of theft, robbery and mobile snatching are increasing at an alarming pace during the last two months. So many incidents of theft have taken place in this period that residents have began to despair now. Besides the law enforcing agencies, this matter of grave concern also requires immediate attention of the MQM leadership as their political party is the only representative of our town. This is, in fact, the town where MQM attained the highest vote turnover. Hence, the MQM has a political and moral obligation to take immediate remedial steps to check the increasing incidents of stealing, burglary and mobile snatching etc. -ZAID IBNE-ALI, Karachi, via e-mail, August 7.
